The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands in times of controversy. -Martin Luther King Jr.
We are the light in darkness.
We live in a world that is plagued by pain. Hurt people are hurting other people. Gossip runs rampant, as we choose to talk behind other people’s back. We make fun of each other, we judge one another, we kill each other. The pain that is out in the world, as the reader, I am sure you are all to familiar with.
But, that is why you and I are here. Because we can be the difference. We can be the light in the darkness. We can be the shoulder to the crying person. We can be the friend to the one who feels alone, the cheer to the sadness. The happiness to depression. So, what are we going to decide to do?
If we decide to dim our light, then we are darkness. And we if we choose, as choice is always in our hands, then we can be light!
So, let us be light. Let us be the healing to the trauma. Let us be the smile to the frown, the healing to the pain. Because when we choose the path of light, we become the difference and make a difference. And we all have the capacity to do so.
Be light in the darkness. For no matter how small that light may shine, darkness flees and if we all shine our light small or big, the darkness becomes light itself.
