Ghandi, 1982

Director: Richard Attenborough

I am very disappointed in myself that I have not watched this movie earlier.

I thought the filming of the movie was really well done, and Ben Kingsley did a phenomenal job portraying Gandhi.

I wish the producer would have portrayed Gandhi’s early years and I also appreciate what was filmed and portrayed. While some scenes could have had made more sense with greater context, such as the clergyman who showed up in Ghandi’s life and almost left just as quick or the woman who “preferred the name given to her by Gandhi”, I think the intention set out by Attenborugh, to portray the heart of Ghandi, was accomplished.

A must see film for those interested in gaining a more in depth perspective of Ghandi and the events that shaped the man as we know him today.
